Acne (acne vulgaris, common acne) is a disease of the hair follicles of the face, chest, and back that affects most teenagers during puberty -- the only exception being members of a couple of primitive Neolithic tribes living in isolation. it's not caused by bacteria, although microorganism play a role in its development. it's commonplace for a few ladies to develop skin disease in their mid- to late-20s. Acne appears on the skin as occluded pores ("comedones"), also called blackheads or whiteheads, tender red bumps also called pimples or zits, pustules (bumps containing pus), and infrequently as cysts (deep pimples, boils). One can do lots to treat skin disease using product available at a store or cosmetic counter that don't need a prescription.
